Some of the Cronies gather for a photo . . .
The "Cronies" are a unique
group of about a dozen friends from all over the United States who, for the past many
years, engage annually in various male-bonding adventure outings which have included:
white water rafting down the Arkansas River through Royal Gorge, backpacking llamas up Mt.
Harvard almost 14,000 feet in the Collegiate range on the Continental Divide, stalking
buffalo in the tall grass prairie of Northern Oklahoma armed only with disposable cameras
to see who could get the best pictures without getting maimed, Swamp Romping with Cajun
associates in Louisiana, and we were the hit of the Great Mississippi Hot Air Balloon Race
in Natchez, MS, as the NASA Hot Air Balloon Team, just to mention a few of our
adventures. . . . all are pilots or involved in aviation, and most have some association
with NASA. The ranks include retired Air Force Colonels, a forensic CPA, a commercial jet
engine overhaul specialist, a three-time NASA shuttle commander, an aerospace Ph.D.
educator, a worn out TV journalist, a NASA educator who was instrumental in the teacher in
space program, and other colorful characters. A photomontage of several of
the adventures are here for cronies and friends to visit. After each adventure, a merciless
"Cronygram" goes out to participants. An example from a wild snowmobile
trip to Grand Lake is presented here to share
our genuine fun and comradeship with others!
